FitWatch Weight Loss Tools and Calculators
I’m a big believer in “knowing your numbers” when it comes to losing weight and getting fit. Tools and calculators let you know where you’re at, so you can set goals and head in the right direction.
I’ve put together the weight loss-related tools and calculators that can be found on FitWatch.
BMI A formula that uses weight and height to estimate body fat and gauge health risks due to carrying too much weight. The BMI is only one factor in determining a person’s health risk. A BMI in the “healthy” range does not necessarily mean that you are fit and healthy!
BMR Your BMR (Basal Metabolic Rate) is the estimated minimum level of energy required to sustain the body’s vital functions when at rest. The Harris-Benedict formula is used to calculate the BMR (Basal Metabolic Rate).
Weight Loss Percentage Love it or hate it, NBC’s The Biggest Loser sure does get people interested in weight loss. A lot of you want to know how to calculate the percentage of weight loss like they do on the show. So, I’ve created this handy weight loss calculator for you to check your percentage of weight loss.
Weight Loss Target Date Do you have 20lbs to lose? 30lbs? More? The Weight Loss Target Date calculator gives you an idea of how long it will take to lose that weight. After you enter your info, the calculator estimates how many calories you need to stay at the same weight (total daily calorie needs). It then calculates 5 different calorie deficits and how long it will take you to lose those pounds.
Body Fat Percentage Use this calculator to figure out your body fat percentage. Although there are more accurate methods (hydrostatic weight, skinfold calipers), you can still use this method to track any changes that appear.
