Fast, Safe Weight Loss - Does it Exist?
One major thing that people who want to lose weight have in common is the desire to lose it FAST! Of course, most of them want to lose it safely too. Does that describe you? If so, you may be wondering if it’s indeed possible to achieve fast, safe weight loss.
You’re probably already aware that there are plenty of ways to lose weight that are NOT safe, like crash diets, starvation diets, fad diets, and diet pills with dangerous stimulants. None of these will work long term, and they can create a lot of scary health problems.
One of the healthiest and safest ways to lose weight is by simply making changes to your eating and exercise habits. Removing the foods that are unhealthy and fattening; increasing your intake of fresh fruit and vegetables; reducing portion sizes; drinking plenty of water; exercising to burn fat and tone your muscles.
These simple changes can easily help you lose 1-2 pounds per week, and possibly more if you have a lot of weight to lose.
Maybe 2 pounds a week doesn’t sound “fast” to you – but think about it this way: you can lose weight really fast, put your health at risk, feel rotten, and gain the weight back just as quickly, putting yourself right back where you started a few months from now.
OR – you can take it a wee bit slower and do it RIGHT, so the weight stays off and your state of health just gets better and better. Which one offers the bigger payoff in the long run?
Fast, safe weight loss is possible provided you keep a reasonable expectation about what “fast” means to you. There’s fast and reckless, and there’s slightly less fast and healthy.
The next few months are going to pass no matter what you do with your weight loss goals. If you start now, you can be well on your way to achieving your goals and feel proud of yourself for doing it the safe and healthy way. Healthy eating and exercise will never create feelings of regret like crash dieting will.
