Easy Metabolism Boosting Exercises to Burn Fat

Published by FitWatch

When you’re trying to boost your metabolism and burn more fat, it’s helpful to know more about the way your metabolism works. A metabolism is the calculation of how quickly your body burns off calories. This differs with heredity, age, and body mass.

If you are looking for a sure-fire way to boost your metabolism fast and for good, the answer lies in weight training. In the past, women believed that weight training exercises would make them look bulky or even manly, but this is not the case. Women don’t normally have an excess of testosterone, so the myth that weight lifting exercises will bulk a woman up like a man is simply untrue.

Pick Up Some Weights
Weight lifting is one of the most effective metabolism boosting exercises because it increases muscle strength and mass. The more muscle mass you have, the more calories you will burn. This, in turn, increases your metabolic rate. For optimal effect, use small, five to ten pound dumbbells. You can either do this while just standing still or even while taking a brisk walk. You can also incorporate a side bend which will help tone your abs.

Weight machines offer an alternative to traditional weight training. If you can’t afford a weight machine for your home, you might consider joining a gym. Gyms have great equipment for weight training exercises. If you are new to weight lifting exercises, you should start off with lighter weights and work your way up. Be sure to start off slowly. Twenty to thirty minutes of weight lifting three to five times per week is the optimum amount for the average person. Most gyms offer advice or even personal training to assist with exercise planning.

Get Your Heart Pumping
Cardiovascular workouts are good metabolism boosting exercises too – they help you burn calories and boost your metabolism for a sustained amount of time, and experts say that your metabolism remains elevated for hours after you finish a cardio workout.

Bend And Stretch…
Another fantastic metabolism boosting exercise is yoga. Putting your body through various stretches and poses strengthens your core and relaxes your body. If you’re a beginner you may want to join a class to get the best benefit, but there are plenty of beginning yoga DVDs for sale in stores and online that can help you learn the effective yoga postures. Yoga will also give you energy, and it has been known to help with stress and anxiety as well. So if you are looking for the perfect exercise to boost your metabolism, one that isn’t too hard on your body, look no further than a daily thirty to forty-five minute relaxing yoga routine. Doing yoga first thing in the morning can provide a boost of energy and strength to get you through the day. Doing it in the evening before bed can be very relaxing, helping you to release tension and stress and sleep great. Choose the best time of day for you.

When doing any kind of exercise it’s a good idea to keep your body hydrated by drinking plenty of water. Drinking the suggested daily amount of water alone will help your body work at its best. Water provides you with energy while increasing your metabolism at the same time. It is also suggested you eat healthy, protein rich foods with every meal. Spacing your meals out to four to six smaller meals a day will stabilize your metabolism and give you more energy throughout the day.
