Your Excuse: "I'm So Desperate To Lose This Weight! I Want It Off NOW!"
The Excuse Buster: When you first start a weight loss program it can often seem to take forever to see results. You wish you could fast-forward your life to the day when you are already thin so you don't have to go through the grueling process of losing all those pounds between now and then. In fact, some people may even take drastic measures to speed up the process by severely restricting caloric intake or engaging in even more destructive behaviors. When this happens, it is usually because the person is so desperate to reach the "Thin" finish line that they sacrifice their own health for the sake of being thin.Hopefully you see the benefits of following a healthy, balanced program to lose weight gradually, but you may still feel impatient that your weight loss is taking too long. In order to make the waiting easier, you may want to devise some mental strategies to keep you feeling satisfied that progress is being made, rather than getting frustrated that you're not moving fast enough.
One of the best ways to do this is by consistently looking back and confirming how far you've come. Even if you haven't experienced massive results yet, you can still acknowledge the inner and outer changes taking place and affirm that more are in progress. You can take a few "before" and "during" photos to help keep yourself inspired, or even keep a running log of your weight and body measurements so you can see clearly that you are making progress. When you do this, you shift from feeling stuck to knowing that you are always moving forward, and that alone can be satisfying enough until the bigger results start showing.
More often than not, every phase of a weight loss journey is directly related to your own attitude. If you feel like you aren't moving fast enough, if you are overly dependent upon getting the end result you want, you will make yourself miserable through the entire journey. But if you can step back and find a way to enjoy where you are now, feel good about how far you've come and look forward to the next phase without being too attached to it, you will strike the perfect balance to make your journey swift and rewarding.
