Jillian Michaels - The Biggest Loser’s Top Trainer - Can She Really Help You Lose Weight, Too?
You are in: Diet Plans, Exercise, Nutrition, Shop / Product Reviews, Weight Loss
You’ve seen Jillian Michaels train and motivate people to lose hundreds of pounds as the Biggest Loser’s top trainer (and maybe you’ve even secretly wished she was your trainer!). But can her online weight loss program really help you lose weight?
The short answer is… yes! But just like you see on The Biggest Loser, you have to put some effort into it — and, seriously, that’s a good thing, You’ve seen Jillian train people; you know what she’s like. There’s no way she promises a quick fix. Jillian Michaels is all about eating well and moving your butt. But she gets results: a healthy, fit body for the rest of your life.
What I love about JillianMichaels.com is that it takes into account 3 key factors: exercise, nutrition and support. Most online weight loss programs deal with nutrition, and then suggest exercise almost as an afterthought… Get real!
Customized Exercise Plans
Jillian knows exercise plays a key role in fat loss. And JillianMichaels.com provides expert training tools to get you moving:
- Customized and personalized workouts (do exercises you want to do, when you want to do them)
- Weekly fitness planner (based on your fitness level)
- Detailed information on how to do the exercises
- Fitness diary (to record your success)
- They even have an online guide that shows you which muscles to work, how often and why.
Food Plans for Your Body Type
Jillian Michael’s food section tells you which foods are right for your body type, how many calories you need to eat to lose weight, and teaches you how to put together delicious meals that are right for you. There’s also over 100 recipes and meal suggestions for your body type, too.
Support to Reach Your Goals
Support-wise, there’s an active forum and the ability to become a “Weight Loss Buddy.” You can team up with people who are going through the exact same struggles as you — or hook up with somebody who’s been there, done that and has the body to show for it! It’s a great way to be inspired…and to inspire others.
Bottom line, JillianMichaels.com gives you the tools you need to lose weight, burn fat and get in shape. As a trainer and life coach, she’s been helping people lose weight for over 15 years; she knows what she’s talking about…
Lose the Fat Forever
Losing weight is not just about dieting but about making a lifelong commitment to feeling great. Jillian Michaels will help you do that.
As I write this, JillianMichaels.com is offering 20% off the membership fee — $4.00 a week instead of $5.00. There’s a 5 week minimum to sign up ($20.00), and you can stop your subscription any time after that. That comes out to around $0.57 cents a day. Definitely worth a try!

Does Jillian ever do private training sessions? If so, what is her rate and does she train at her own facility?
Samantha Prestenbach on March 11th, 2008 at 9:24 pm
Hi Samantha,
I, personally, don’t know, but I would imagine she’s too busy to do private training any more. From what I hear, she does a lot of other work (books, speaking engagements, interviews — and, of course, The Biggest Loser.)
Wouldn’t that be something to have her as a personal trainer though!

she doesnt do private trainings because of biggest loser, I know she made a lot as a personal trainer so I assume Biggest Loser is paying her some ridiculous amount of $$$

I’ve been listening to Jillian’s radioshow at KFI AM 640, which is a great resource and inspiration if anyone wants to check it out ( RSS feed: http://www.kfi640.com/podcast/SUNDAY.xml ).
I’ve heard her mention on it that she doesn’t really do private training sessions other than maybe for charity sometimes, but she works with a trainer(s) really closely and I’ve heard her refer a few listeners to his services. Apparently Jillian does supervice and advice him on all the training so that’s pretty much as close to her as you’re going to get
She writes books, does two Biggest Loser shows, radio show, consulting and a lot of other stuff so I’m sure she’s pretty busy to do personal training sessions anymore.
But I cannot recommend listening to her radioshow enough. You can download the podcast online or listen to it on the radio on Sundays. Loads of energy, loads of information. Highly recommended!

Hi Jillian,
You are my inspiration every morning when I get up to workout and eat healthy. I am trying so hard to lose 20 pounds and everytime I think it get to tough I picture you there pushing me on. I am the biggest fan in the world of the biggest loser. My dream is to meet you one day and become friends. I am so insecure about myself that I don’t like to go out in public very much so I don’t have many friends, but hopefully that will change soon. You are such an amazing and wonderful person and I thank you for everything you do for people all over the nation.
Thak you,
Steph

Does anyone know approximately how many calories you burn doing some of her dvd’s?
sterling on February 23rd, 2009 at 10:43 am
I am a huge fan! I watch The Biggest Loser every week. I can’t get enough. (how inspirational) I workout to her wii game and dvd’s. But, recently I tore my MCL in both knees and the MD has shut me down. What else can I do to keep losing weight. I’ve already lost 20 pounds and wish to lose another 15. I would appretiate any suggestions.

Jenn, if it were me, I’d reduce the amount of calories I’m eating (you can use my to figure out a safe calorie deficit).
One of my favorite online trainers, Paige Waehner, has an article on what to do when you have a lower body injury:
What exercises can I do if I have a lower body injury?
Best of luck! I’ve been injured enough times — it ain’t fun!
Just be sure to follow doctor’s orders (or your physiotherapist’s orders) and ease your way back into things when you’re better.

A 3 to 4oz serving size of meat is about the size of a deck of playing cards.
I have some other tips on serving sizes here:
