What’s the Deal with Denise Austin?

You’ve probably heard it before: Denise Austin, America’s favorite fitness guru. Sure, she knows what she’s talking about and she walks the walks. But there are tons of fitness trainers out there who know can do that, too. So, what is it about Denise that makes her so loved? What makes her so special?

For me, her enthusiasm and sincerity about weight loss shines right through. She makes you feel like you can do anything when it comes to eating right and exercising.

Some people think she’s annoying, a little too “happy,” a little too rah-rah. (She’s a 5’4″, 120lb dynamo — energy is her middle name, to put it mildly!) But hang around with a negative person and see how quickly they drain you, see how quickly you skip a workout — and see how quickly you reach for a sugar-loaded snack.

Motivation is everything when it comes to weight loss. It doesn’t matter what diet or wokrout plan you use: if you’re not motivated, you just won’t lose the weight. And I think the fact that Denise gets over 10,000 letters and e-mails a week — that’s half a million a year — shows she knows how to motivate people!
