A Timeless, Easy Weight Loss Trick That Works

Published by FitWatch

There are so many complex weight loss plans available today, and most of them probably work when applied correctly. But many people shy away from confusing, expensive plans that require a lot of time, preparation, and expense. Are you one of those people? Do you wish there was a simpler, easier way to lose weight for good?

There is.

In this article I’m going to share a timeless, easy weight loss “trick” that really works. There’s nothing “tricky” about it, really. But it does almost seem magical in a way when you see the results of it working in your life.

Ready for the trick? Here it is: eat smaller portions.

You’ve heard that one before, I’m sure. But have you ever given it a fair chance to work for you?

The truth is, many people are overweight today ONLY because they eat too many calories and burn too few calories. If you suspect this could be the culprit for you too, read on:

Do you know how big your stomach is? Not the outer part, I mean the organ itself. Take one of your hands and make a fist right now. That’s approximately the size of your stomach. Now picture how much food you can put away in one sitting. It’s much bigger in volume than your fist, right? That’s because your stomach is capable of stretching to hold more.

If you keep eating large portions, you will keep ingesting far more calories than your body needs. If you simply reduce the amount of food you eat at one time, you’ll notice that weight loss happens fairly easily . . . and quickly!

How much food should you eat at one time? For most people, the equivalent of 2-3 cups will be satisfying without making them feel stuffed. Everyone’s appetite is different; you’ll need to figure out how much volume of food is right for you. The key is to eat enough so that you feel satisfied (i.e. no longer hungry) but not stuffed to the gills. That’s it. If you made just this one small change, you’d probably start losing weight immediately.

However, if your diet is loaded with unhealthy, fattening, fried and sugary foods, it’s definitely a good idea to change that too. You don’t have to be a saint with your food choices, but do your best to make healthy choices as often as possible, and still enjoy small portions of richer foods now and then.

Finally, if you live a very sedentary lifestyle, it is also a good idea to start getting more active. You don’t have to spend your life in the gym, but at least get out and go for a walk, or do something to start burning more calories every day.
