9 Herbs You Need in Your Diet

The Chinese have relied on the use of herbs for thousands of years; they have used them for cooking and in many of the traditional herbal medicines that are available for almost any ailment. The Chinese have sworn that herbal remedies work just as effectively if not better than more traditional medication. Here are 9 of those herbs which you should include in your diet, either in cooking or taken as herbal supplements in order to keep your body and mind in tip-top shape.

Cinnamon
Cinnamon is a very useful herb to keep in your kitchen, not only does it smell good but it can also be used for a wide variety of problems and to help ward off illness. It is said that by taking a pinch of coarsely powdered cinnamon in boiling water with a little honey can help to ward off cold and flu, in fact is has been said that it is as effective when used on a regular basis as having a flu shot.

Coriander
The leaves of the Coriander are thought to be an all round tonic and booster when used on a regular basis and are essential if you wish to give a boost to your sex life as they are considered to be an aphrodisiac.

Dill
Including dill in your daily diet can help to keep your stomach and intestinal organs running smoothly and naturally. Dill can be included in numerous foods and can also be beneficial to those who have problems sleeping.

Cumin
Cumin seeds are an all round cure and prevention against many illnesses. They are regarded as a natural antiseptic and are a natural stimulant, cumin seeds are particularly helpful when it comes to stomach disorders and when taken on a regular basis can strengthen the stomach.

Chicory
Chicory is well known as a tonic and is one of the richest sources of vitamin A. It can be mixed with the juice of carrot, celery and parsley to make a wonderful and nutritional drink that will keep your muscular system in top shape.

Cloves
Cloves have many medicinal properties mostly which are regarded as stimulants, they can help correct a sluggish digestive system and regulate body temperature.

Dandelion
There are many significant medicinal uses for dandelion leaves. Perhaps the most well known is the therapeutic values it offers when drunk as an alternative to coffee or tea.

Curry
Curry leaves have the quality of being an herbal tonic that has all round beneficial effects on the health. They are known to strengthen the stomach and keep the digestive system in good working order and are often used as a gentle laxative. The juice of the curry leaves are thought to work exceptionally well in treating nausea and morning sickness and eating the leaves is said to be a great at preventing diabetes.
