Monday Morning “Goal” Call :: Finding Time

goals One excuse I’ve heard many times — and used! — is, “I don’t have the time.” You know what I mean: “I want to exercise, but I don’t have the time.” “I want to eat right, but I don’t have the time.”

Here, I’ll make it simple for you: fill in the blank with your own excuse: “_________________________, but I don’t have the time.”

There, are ya done whining? :-)

We ALL have the same 24 hours in a day. If you want to do something and you “feel” you don’t have the time, then you need to figure out a way to free up some time. No excuses.

Monday Morning “Goal” Call :: You Are What You Think

Posted in: Monday Morning Goal Call, Motivation, Weight Loss    |    18 Comments

goals For the longest of times, I wasn’t a huge fan of goal setting. Not that I thought it wasn’t a good thing to do, but I felt that “I” just didn’t need it. (Hey, that’s what will power is for, right?) I’d occasionally set goals, but would quickly forget them.

But lately I’ve learned a lot more about goals and the science behind it. And all I can say is: wow! I’ve been setting goals and seeing steady results. Eating better and exercising more has never been easier. I don’t have it down to a fine art yet; it takes time to break bad habits — and to even recognize that something you do is a bad habit.

The bottom line is: you are what you think. If you think you’re never going to lose weight, think you can’t lose weight, think you can never be strong and fit, your subconscious is going to listen to you and make sure you never lose weight.

So, I’ve decided to start a weekly blog post called “Monday Morning ‘Goal’ Call.” Get it? Kind of like a roll call for your goals. (Note to self: if you have to explain a joke…)

Every Monday, I want you to come back here and talk about your goals for the week. Are you trying to change a bad habit? Do you need to tell your inner critic to stifle it? Even a small change in daily habit can snowball into bigger changes.
