Precision-accuracy-quality at a great priceJanuary 1, 2008 W. Hooper(Duluth, GA United States) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
Another great scale from American Weigh. Incredible repeatability regardless of sample placement on platform. Outstanding range and resolution (2000g at 0.1g res). Combine this with the best 100g/0.01g pocket scale (AWM-100) and you have an outstanding laboratory reference at a very low price.
Highly recommended for home, office, laboratory.
a good multi purpose scaleFebruary 26, 2009 Massimo Potenza 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I decided to get a scale to count calories but wanted one that I could use for a multitude of purposes. I like the 0.1 gram resolution and the range is just about right for kitchen use.
I'll probably use this in the future to weigh mechanical parts. I tested it by weighing coins, 5 quarters weigh exactly one ounce. I don't think I'll ever use the pennyweight mode and will rarely if ever use the Troy ounce mode, but it's nice to know they're there.
If you're thinking about getting a mass to calibrate this scale, the instructions call for using a 2000g mass but only if the readings are inaccurate. Like I mentioned above, I tested it by weighing multiples of 5 quarters to make sure they came out to even ounces.
Great accurracy for the right price.September 2, 2009 J. Fee(Jeffersonville, Pa United States) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Solid design, very easy to use, accurate. I purchased a plug-in power supply for this scale so I cannot comment about battery life. The only (very small) complaint about it is the display; I wish you could tilt it or it was a different type. The LCD is difficult to read if you are standing over the scale, you have to step back a little until it is readable. very minor though. We have a sick cat that we have to monitor how much food/calories she eats and this is excellent for weighing both the dry food (in a cup) and wet food (on a dish). We use to use a scale that was accurate to 1g, but that meant you were off by as much as 1/2g and when you talk about measuring 5g (or less) of something, it was a large margin. This is excellent since it measures to the .1g (it is now possible to see a weight change from a single piece of kibble).
This is a great product people.January 14, 2009 Victoria Fattaleh(La Ceiba, Atlantida, Honduras, Central America) im from Honduras Central America and i bout it because i work in a Lab and it results that it was a great product!! even my mom used it on her kitchen when she cooks.
Very nice scaleDecember 15, 2009 Noel Poduje(Needham MA) I am very pleased with this scale. It is easy to use and works well. It is compact and easy to carry from kitchen to workshop, etc. It's high capacity (2kg) and high resolution (0.1g) make it useful for all sorts of things, cooking, model airplanes, mixing epoxy, etc.). And the price is great.
