Product Description
The simple white-on-white design of this digital platform scale from Health-o-meter makes it a fresh, clean note in any bathroom décor. Constructed from durable steel, the 300-pound capacity scale features a smart foot mat with horizontal ribs that wipe off easily and keep you from slipping. Conveniently sized, the LED display provides a large, easy-to-read digital weight measurement and alerts you when the 9-volt battery's low. With raised bumpers to protect your floor, the unit stands just 2-1/2 inches off the floor, for a nonbulky profile. Though it measures a compact 10-1/4 by 10 inches, the scale's efficient display design still leaves ample room for standing. Health-o-meter backs it up with a five-year limited warranty.

5 out of 5 stars works like a scale should   December 1, 2009

I assume it is accurate. I have nothing to check it against so I cannot guarantee it. However I can say its repeatability is excellent, good to 0.1 pounds, and that is what is important as far as monitering weight loss or gain.

5 out of 5 stars I'm glad I bought it   November 22, 2009

My husband requested that I buy a digital scale. I looked at a lot of them and then decided to go with one which didn't cost so much. This one is working great for us and I really like it.

5 out of 5 stars Simple, reliable, accurate.   February 20, 2010

It does what it's supposed to do.

So far as I can tell, it's accurate. I weighed some books on the kitchen scale, put them on this and got the same weight. I weighed myself 2 or 3 times in a row, it gives the same answer each time. I change my weight a bit (remove clothes, drink water) and the displayed weight changes a bit. I mention this because some scales, which display weights to the tenth of a pound, only change the displayed weight when the weight changes by a full pound or two. Fake accuracy is annoying.

The scale is well designed in that it'll give the same reading even if you're not perfectly centered on it. I tried putting all my weight on the front or back - it displayed the same weight. Other scales using the same strain gauge tech aren't as consistent.

I thought it was broken shortly after I started using it. My displayed weight dropped by 20-30 pounds, sometimes I would get the ERR display or a the LO battery warning. Turns out the lid of the battery case had fallen off and the battery, hanging loose, was not strongly connected. Reinserted the battery, snapped the lid back on and there have been no other problems.

I like that it uses a 9v battery. The scale I had before used a watch type CR2032 and it would exhaust that battery in a month or two! I think this scale won't need a new battery for years.

The reliability bit is an assumption. I've only had it a few days - if it breaks down or starts acting wonky I'll update this review.

5 out of 5 stars Had this scale so long, we can't remember.   February 13, 2010

We have had this scale so long, none of us in the household can remember when or where it was purchased. We do know that it's been well over 14 years. Unfortunately, it has recently failed on us. However, I will be purchasing the exact same scale and was thrilled to find that Healthometer still makes them. If you want an accurate, long-wearing, sensibly priced bathroom scale, this is the one to purchase.

Wonderful product, small in size, which is what I needed for my bathroom; just give it few taps to set to zero.
